Happy weekend, y’all!
How crazy is your life right now? I feel like there’s so much going on, it’s hard to keep up! I’m a full time college student, but now I’m stuck at home for the last six weeks of my semester. If I’m being honest, this is kinda the homebody’s dream.
A few months ago, my family was hanging on a Saturday and decided to take on the project of “refreshing” our basement! We’ve lived in our house for 14 years, and our basement has gone through several phases. For the first 8ish years of living here, my three siblings and I battled for that basement on a Friday night. And now, for the last few years, it’s been more of a deserted space in our house. Coincidentally, when we were getting ready to rid the space of its stained shag carpet, our entire basement flooded in one of those terrible summer storms! So then we just had to put in some fresh, pretty hard surface floors. Two years later, the space is so pretty, but we realized that it’s just filled with old mis-matched pieces of furniture that didn’t have a home anywhere else. So it was time for a refresh! We’re just about done with it now, and we’ve been enjoying movie nights down there at least twice a week. It’s really sweet to love the space again!!
I’m planning to share a full post once our basement is truly complete, but for now, I thought a little mood/design board would be fun as a sneak peak! Some of these pieces are inspiration, and others are things we already have in the space! I’ve loved seeing it all come together. It’s definitely the most contemporary space in our house now, but I think it still has a fun mix of our farmhouse/vintage style. It will all come together more in the next post! Stay tuned for that.

I hope you guys like how it’s coming together!!! Xo
