Happy Friday, loves!! It’s soooo spring time now, and I am embracing it with full force! I always get excited to spring clean, because I looooove cleaning and organizing. I am in a mood right now of changing things up and refreshing spaces, so our house has seen a lot of little changes recently. Instead of just cleaning this year, I wanted to do a few other little things to make our home feel fresh for spring. I think it feels so necessary this year, probably because we have all been stuck in this place for so long now!! Here are five ways to give your house a little refresh for spring!
change your sheets
FIRST on my list. Switch out to a fresh and clean set of sheets! Hopefully something light, maybe even pastel. Treat yourself to a new set, if you’re feeling it!!!
Here are some cute options:
clean out a drawer or two
The most classic spring refresh – CLEANING! I know it’s smart to dust and wipe things down and attack the dirtiest spots. This part feels boring, but if you do it, I’d suggest starting where you feel the biggest impact will be made on your day to day! I do think it’s fun to go through closets or drawers and get rid of stuff. There’s nothing like seeing a messy drawer transform to a super organized, workable spot! My suggestion would be to start in a spot you use regularly and are always bugged by. For me, it’s under the sink in my bathroom. I’m going to do that first and then move onto bigger things! Maybe my closet next!
buy fresh flowers
I just love the feeling of some fresh flowers inside. And they definitely brighten the room and give that full spring feeling!!! Treat yourself!!!
rearrange shelves decor
This feels like a simple and fun way for things to be refreshed! Go on Pinterest and find some new inspiration. Your bookshelves can have a lot more than just books! Switch things around and bring new things out! This is one of my favorite things to do!!
put out your pastels or bright colors
Switch from some darker colors to things that will be brighter for spring! My family tends to decorate with a lot of navy. Around this time, we shift some of those pieces out and replace them with more neutrals and softer colors. I’m usually ready for this change by April!
paint a room
If you really want to feel a change, paint a room! Or you could paint just a wall. Or a piece of furniture. I’m always amazed how much a paint of coat can change something little. Send me a picture when you’re done!
move your furniture
If you have the flexibility for your furniture pieces to be in different places, switch them all around! I LOVE doing this. It seriously will change how you view the space for a while. Sometimes you just need a refresh! You could move things within a room or go all over the place and switch things from room to room!
change candles for the season
Possibly the easiest thing on this list, switch out your candles! I have a little rotation of my spring/summer scents, fall scents, and Christmas/winter scents. Bring out those fresh ones!!! Big difference!
I did some spring cleaning posts last year! You can read about spring cleaning my vanity here and my closet here if you’re in the mood for those!
